10 Things that have tickled my fancy over break

Wow, Ashy (Miss Magnolia), thanks for the shout out on the blog, even though I feel a bit undeserving since my posts have been quite sporadic over break.

The award rules are as follows:
1. List 10 things that make you happy.
2. Tag 10 bloggers that brighten your day.
3. If you are one of the 10 bloggers awarded, link back to this blog, and pass it along.

Since I have a bit of catching up to do on here, I am going to tweak "10 Things that make me happy" to "10 Things that have tickled my fancy over break" in order to make way for some back logging.

1. One of my best friends is getting married in July and will be the most breathtaking bride Gulf Shores has ever seen. Bridesmaid dress shopping has proved to be a fun new experience the past couple of weeks. And I have a feeling that it is preparing me for the many, many weddings I will be attending in the next couple of years...

2. It snowed on my birthday! Now, please keep in mind that this is an Alabama snow... If you look really closely you can see the flurries in front of my house.

Lilly didn't quite know what to make of the snow.

3. December was the month that Deb season had felleth upon us. Congrats Ash, Marianne, and the newest innaugeral class of Poinsettia debs-- you are real women now. Three different debs + three different cities= 3 long dresses required.

4. The Bachelor has returned....finally! Monday nights at my house have been...interesting...ahem-- Rozlyn.

5. I know I mentioned I had a birthday, but did I mention that I turned 22!? Yuck. In the words of my wise--now engaged friend (refer to #1), "Sloan, 22 means you have no more excuses. You are an adult now with real responsibilities."

6. Rodarte came out with a line for Target. While I didn't get there early enough to snag some of the dresses I'd had my eye on, I did get my hands on one of the coolest skirt I have ever owned.

Please note the lovely ethereal tulle.

6. I have been reading everything that I can possibly get my hands on. Pat Conroy's South of Broad paints a picture of Charleston that makes me yearn for this coastal city that I have only briefly visited. And Roses by Leila Meacham comes in a close second to Gone with the Wind. Take the beautiful, passionate, and determined face of Scarlotte O'Hara and transplant her to an East Texas cotton plantation shrouded in 100 years of family secrets, deceits, and mistakes and you've got a story that spans three generations.

7. Words with Friends. Yes, I am still obsessed. (refer to previous post)

8. I learned how to shoot a gun. Don't worry I was in an enclosed steel cube at an indoor shooting range. That's right, I am just your average Annie Oakley.

9. Counting down the days til I get to spend Spring Break 10 sailing around the Caribbean with the most precious girls I could ever ask for....oh yeah and I will be clad in my newest swimsuit attire.

10. With my college graduation looming, the appropriate question usually surfaces, "Sloan, what are you going to do after you graduate?" At first, the dreaded question frustrated me. After a month of researching companies, and emailing out resumes, I have learned to rejoice in my "I don't know" response. I am thankful that I have options and thankful for the constant testing of my faith that He knows and that should be sufficient.

The snow was ALMOST a happy moment, albeit a bit disappointing that it wasn't more than it was... (sigh)

But the rest sound very happy!! :)

Thanks for the tag!!
